Anonymous commenting-
If a person works for a local industry, school district, county government, etc. & has info about a story- why shut off their ability to comment in an anonymous way?
No hate speech, threats, foul language, attacking other commenters- these are rules that make sense.
Eliminating anonymous commenting on newspaper web editions is information suppression.
Newspaper paywalls-
Seems like fewer people will be viewing online advertising if they have to pay to see news stories.
Not hardcore against this, however- when people watched Walter Cronkite- they did not pay.
Were these folks cheating the system somehow?
The idea comes off as suppressing discussion at some point.
